Investigating Domestic Violence Across Borders

In this podcast, The Gate‘s Audio-Visual Co-Chair, Nicole Roesler, interviews Bisola-Mariam, the recipient of the 2024-25 David Axelrod Reporting Grant, about her investigative reporting on domestic violence in both the West and Global South. She discusses the challenges of covering such a deeply personal and often hidden issue, as well as the role of journalism in amplifying survivor voices. They also examine the cultural and structural elements that influence how domestic violence is confronted in various societies.
